We have arrived!

After a grueling trip, where all three flights were delayed, we finally got to Aunt Mary's in Mississippi just before midnight on Thursday. It took us a couple of hours to hook up the batteries, get the air-conditioning running, sort out all the bedding, unpack and finally get to bed! It would have been a lot later if not for the great help we got from Ruth Ann and Donnie (Brenda's cousins) who did so much prep before we arrived. Thanks guys!

Its a big temperature shock moving from close to freezing in NZ to 93f (34c) in Mississippi. And I know we will be hitting temperatures of closer to 105f (over 40c) when we get to Texas. Hopefully we will have acclimatised by then.

So we have spent a couple of days catching up with the family in Gloster MS. We waved goodbye to them on Sunday afternoon and have headed south into Louisiana. We have the coach parked up at the dealership where we originally bought it in Hammond.

Some service and warranty work is being completed before we leave to head west on our trip to California.

Now the best burgers I have ever eaten come from Hammond. A small bar/restaurant called "Your Mom's" where they make their own burger patties and sourdough buns. Here is a pic:

I had my usual "blue" burger (lots of chunky blue cheese in the dressing) and Brenda indulged in a "swiss with mushrooms". She says a burger without cheese ain't a real burger - and I agree!

Our first priority (after filling our bellies) was to get connected. The guys at AT&T have re-chipped my cellphone to work on the American network. So for those of you in the USA and others with deep pockets and a desperate need to contact us by phone - our number here for the next 3 months in the US is 601-569-5996 (with the 001 country code in front if calling from outside the US). Of course we are also connected via Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp - for those overseas folk who don't have deep pockets!

We expect to start our trip in earnest n the next couple of days, and we will update you all on our progress as we go.
